Psych & What Not

We were in Texas a couple weeks back for the Austin Psych Fest, which put us on a psych music listening bent recently. For this week's broadcast, we decided to revisit some of the artists who gave our favorite performances of the festival (Bo Ningen, Kikagaku Moyo, White Hills, Destruction Unit, Pink Mountaintops, Dead Meadow, Moon Duo, Earthless, The Brian Jonestown Massacre), along with a few of our perennial favorites of the genre (Clinic, The Warlocks, Oneida, Comets On Fire, Spacemen 3, Swans) and a few other notables (Hookworms, White Noise Sound, Dungen, Goat).

This is only a loosely themed playlist. Some of these tracks veer into post-rock and noise rock terrain, but they all fit together well enough. And it being the end of the semester at WSUM, we were able to pick up an extra hour, enabling us to add in a few extended jams. (By the way, The Way Out will be taking the Thursday 10pm-midnight slot all summer.)

Here's the playlist for our 2-hour long Thursday, May 15, 2014, broadcast:

The Brian Jonestown Massacre - "Wisdom"
